Phil Swinbank has found a site with two photos of Legman and a short bio - I hadn't seen the man before.

A Legman's photo is presented in Image
Yoshizawa's Origami Dokuhon I (first edition 1957) on page IV.

The translation (by Itsu Suzaki) of the photo's legend says :
"The picture below shows children and Dr. Legman from Holland, who kindly sponsored a series of exhibits for the auther throughtout Europe."

No doubt for the origine of the photo : it has been taken in the Amsterdam's Stedelijk Museum during the exhibition of Akira Yoshizawa in 1955.

ps You can see the "fan" of Yoshizawa's peacock in back center left, behind the head of the guy.
