A friend paperfolder and aeronautical engineer me back a few frames of the film by André Malraux, L'Espoir - Sierra de Teruel:

It appears in the Potez 540 aircraft fuselage the pajarita insignia. In other image of the pajarita is still on the back of the room, or folding them or throwing it into the air from the plane.
The pajarita on the fuselage of the aircraft of the Escuadra España is a nod of Malraux as a tribute to French aviation hero Captain Joseph Vuillemin and your Escadrille 11. The Escuadra España had not at any time of their performance during the Spanish Civil War as the pajarita insignia.
